Most likely, a cheap transport offer is from an illegal, uninsured solo driver. Anyone can claim they have commercial insurance. At Autri Inc., we provide you with our insurance documentation. We protect your valuable boat. Also, beware of requests for a hefty down payment — it may be a SCAM where the “transporter” disappears after you pay the deposit. Autri only requires a minimum down payment to confirm transport.

Autri Transport is a legal boat transporter. Our drivers are insured, licensed, bonded and operate under our legal running authority with the US DOT. We tow 2,000+ boats and RVs annually. We are in good standing (A+) at the Better Business Bureau. We pride ourselves on friendly door-to-door delivery, and our dispatchers at AKAT, our booking agency, are happy to answer any questions you may have. You’ll also have your boat transport driver’s cell number so you can talk during the transport.

Boat transporters towing requirements

We normally transport boats up to 8 foot 6 inches wide, 13 foot 6 inches tall and up to 43 foot in length (including tongue of trailer). Any boat wider than 8 foot 6 inches will require permits and these costs will be figured into your quote. It is your responsibility as owner to ensure your trailer is roadworthy for transport and all tires are in good condition.

* We transport boats from the USA to Canada or from Canada to the USA (but not between places within Canada.)

PREPARATION FOR BOAT SHIPPING

  1. All items inside your boat must be secured properly. Anything loose must be put away such as personal items. Do not leave personal valuables in your boat.
  2. Doors, lockers, windows and drawers should be shut in a secure manner.
  3. Be sure to take off any items that can be damaged and place in a locked area.
  4. Windshields that can be removed should be and stored in a secure manner.
  5. Make secure preparations for the mast.
  6. To protect inside of boat from debris we strongly recommend that you shrink wrap your vessel.
  7. Do not leave more than ¼ tank of fuel in the tank.
  8. You will have to arrange to have your boat put in the water at your destination, as our drivers are not allowed to do that for you due to liability restrictions.
